Russian Restaurant 俄罗斯餐厅

1/F (behind Guangshen Hotel), Nan Hua Da Sha, Nan Ji Lu, Luohu District (8217 8021) 罗湖区南极路南华大厦1楼

It's seldom you see a Russian restaurant in town but this niche market is slowly expanding in Luohu. Smart move, this being the largest population area in Shenzhen. We couldn't tell it apart from the normal restaurants because its simple singage was buried into bar tables and KTV rooms. The Russian owner and chefs made us believe that it could be a real Russian restaurant offering real Russian cuisine. Indeed, here you have to follow a Soviet appetite: Borshoh (红菜汤 25RMB) first and Russian salad second (30RMB) and the Mutton Leg(烤羊腿30RMB) next, without any side-dishes (a typical Russian rule). Plus, health conscious diners will fall in love with their Buckwheat Coreal with Oil (俄罗斯黑米饭 22RMB). Unfortunately, it took us about two hours to finish dinner. We strongly recommend you play on the pool table (it's free!) while waiting for your courses. And remember that Russian cuisine always offers you well-done flavored mutton, as opposed to raw and bloody lamb.
